Spaceship Earth

Today one of my architecture and design heroes:
Buckminster Fuller.
A total visionary, internationally known in the 50’s because of his Geodesic Dome research and development, was a brilliant and inspiring human.
He even fully documented his whole life (every 15 minutes everyday for decades!) in a diary series called Dimaxion Chronofile!
A total recommendation for further research and inspiration... have a nice day*

"Archigramazed"

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot once again about
Archigram (the amazing
avant-garde conceptual arty architecture
collective created in the 60s by Peter
Cook, Warren Chalk, Ron Herron, Dennis Crompton,
Michael Webb and David Greene).
Below see some Peter Cook’s collages:

Human buildings (Yoshikazu Yamagata)

...and a little bit more of artsy fashion
today. ;)
I’m fascinated with Yoshikazu Yamagata’s work, look at these amazing crotcheted houses!
This was an installation created for Arnehem Mode Bienale 2007 in collaboration with Mafuyu.

A pattern must.

One of my most profound all-time inspirations is the
Wiener Werkstätte
(Viena Workshop). I love their holistic approach
to creativity, the amazing patterns they created,
the artisan touch of everything... So contemporary
but so ornamental at the same time.
Amazing.
I’ve scanned and gathered some images for you:
These two Koloman Moser patterns are serious stuff.. huh?
And below “Mauerblümchen” fabric designed by Lotte Frömmel-Fochler.
and the very same fabric applied by Josef Hoffmann at the Primavesi Country House.
Amazing.

Copo and the japanese house...
23/10/08 10:14
I think this is the right moment to introduce
Copo, our beloved cat...I took this
picture in my home studio while I was trying to tidy
up...
he organized himself in a minute ;)
Well, I wrote this “cat intro” to talk about a great post I read at The Modern Cat, a fantastic japanese cat-friendly house!
I love when architecture and design humanize theirselves enough to produce hybrids like this.

Las Pozas: Sir Edward James house.

I don't use to watch TV...but yesterday I did, and I
saw a documentary about Las Pozas, a surrealistic
-and huge- “eden garden” in the middle of the
Mexico jungle created by poet/humanist Edward James.
I became inmediately captivated by the beauty of it... isn’t it astonishing?

I recently liked a lot the stylings that Studio Pepe are developing
for Case De Abitare new look...
Aren’t the colours just gorgeous?
